Josh Koscheck makes his way to the scales during the weigh in for UFC 143 Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 at Mandalay Bay.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — It would have taken Nate Diaz two days to drive to the Izod Center from his home in Stockton, Calif.

It took UFC on FOX 3 main event opponent Jim Miller 30 minutes from his home in Whippany, N.J.

“It’s like behind enemy lines,” Diaz said in a video at Friday’s weigh-in. “But whatever.”

Diaz (156) appeared unbothered by the boos he received when posing for a stare-down photo with Miller (156) after the two made weight ahead of their main event bout scheduled for Saturday.

Every fighter on the main card, which airs at 5 p.m. on FOX, came in on weight at the Izod Center. Flyweight John Lineker (127) missed by a pound but will receive a second chance on the scale before his bout against Louis Gaudinot (126) later tonight.

“This is a great fight,” Miller said. “You’ve got two of the baddest men on the planet getting locked in a cage.”

Nothing more than scowls were exchanged at the weigh-in, highlighted by the intense face-offs for the main and co-main events. Diaz sneered at Miller but didn’t come close enough to incite any major confrontation.

“He’s tough,” Diaz said. “He’s a very good opponent. I train hard with the best team in the world.”

Josh Koscheck (170.5) got uncomfortably close to Johny Hendricks (170.5) after their welterweight bout became official.

As with the majority of his fights, Koscheck has talked trash and attempted to make the bout with Hendricks personal. But Hendricks, who was a national champion wrestler in college like Koscheck, hasn’t bit by firing any words back in retaliation.

Several fighters had interesting wardrobe choices. “The Ultimate Fighter” 14 champion John Dodson (126) sported Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle pajama pants and Team Alpha Male’s Danny Castillo (155) wore a tear-off suit.

UFC 158
Nick Diaz fails to back up years worth of talk

UFC 158 A welterweight title fight that felt incredibly different wound up remarkably the same. Georges St. Pierre manhandled nemesis Nick Diaz with his wrestling. St. Pierre won every round on every judges' scorecard in Montreal for his sixth straight unanimous-decision victory. Diaz had preached his superiority over St. Pierre for years, but when he finally got his chance, he looked as helpless as all the other challengers to the 170-pound division's throne in the last six years. St. Pierre's consistency continued to amaze. Now it's on to Johny Hendricks, who defeated Carlos Condit in the evening's co-main event. Could he be the one to finally threaten St. Pierre?
