Man shot after threatening homeowner with crowbar

Man shot

Metro Police responded to a west valley home where a man shot his rifle at another man armed with a crowbar.

The incident happened at around 6:45 p.m. in the 5800 block of Iris Avenue near Jones Boulevard and Washington Avenue, police said.

Police say both men know one another and the shooting happened after another altercation between the two earlier that day.

The man with the crowbar entered the home and was threatening the homeowner, police said.

The homeowner then fired his rifle, shooting the suspect’s left elbow, police said. The man was taken to University Medical Center.

Police are on scene investigating, and no arrests have been made at this time.
