Las Vegas Sun

Grab a jacket on your way out the door; it’s raining

Things are grey and murky when they should be green and springlike outside. Just when Las Vegas starts to shake off winter and get a taste of sunshine, the clouds roll in to join us for St. Patrick's Day.

Today's high isn't expected to get beyond the mid-60s, and the National Weather Service was calling for a 70 percent chance of rain along with winds of 30 mph.

As the day wears on, thunder is possible, which may turn into thunderstorms tomorrow when the high is only expected to get to 54 degrees.

The normal high temperature for St. Patrick's Day in Las Vegas is 71 degrees, according to Weather Service data. The normal low is 50 degrees.

And while there's a chill in the air, we're still better off than the St. Patrick's Day celebrants in Dublin, Ireland, where they're expecting a high of 41 degrees.
