Mobile home destroyed by fire in eastern Las Vegas

A fire Tuesday morning destroyed a mobile home in the eastern valley, causing $70,000 damage, county officials said.

Clark County firefighters responded at 9:09 a.m. to the blaze, at 4470 Vegas Valley Drive, near Lamb Boulevard.

Firefighters saw smoke and flames coming from the mobile home upon arrival, but they prevented the fire from spreading to nearby homes, officials said. No one was injured.

The couple who lives in the mobile home arrived on the scene later, at which point one resident experienced a medical problem that required treatment by paramedics on scene, officials said. The person eventually was transported to Desert Springs Hospital.

Investigators deemed the home a total loss, but they have not determine the cause of the fire, officials said. The Red Cross responded to help the displaced couple.
