A fleet of NASCAR trucks containing the stock cars competing in this weekend’s race will parade up Las Vegas Boulevard early Thursday evening, creating minor traffic disruptions.

Metro Police said about 50 trucks in this year's hauler parade would travel from Las Vegas Boulevard at Russell Road north to Sahara Avenue, where they will journey west.

Motorists should expect brief interruptions at the following streets that intersect Las Vegas Boulevard as the parade passes:

• Russell Road

• Reno Avenue

• Tropicana Avenue

• Harmon Avenue

• Flamingo Road

• Spring Mountain Road

• Sahara Avenue

The NASCAR fleet will depart South Point Casino at 5 p.m. and gather near the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Russell Road before the hauler parade begins, police said.

When the parade reaches Sahara Avenue, it will head west on Sahara until it reaches Interstate 15, police said. The NASCAR vehicles will then head north on Interstate 15 toward the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Police do not expect significant restrictions to northbound and southbound traffic along Las Vegas Boulevard — or access into and out of Strip properties — during the parade.
