Las Vegas man in critical condition after being struck by car

A Las Vegas man was in critical condition Friday morning after being hit by a car Thursday while walking across Tropicana Avenue near Decatur Boulevard, Metro Police reported.

Police said Luke Hilton, 52, was struck about 9 p.m. by a 2011 Honda Accord driven by John Lewis, 70, of Seattle. The accident occurred in the center eastbound lane of Tropicana.

Hilton was transported to University Medical Center’s trauma unit, police said. Lewis and his passenger, 47-year-old Lars Haneberg, were not injured.

Police said Hilton was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the accident.

The accident is under investigation.
