Alaska woman wins $1 million jackpot at Hard Rock in Las Vegas

An Alaska woman is planning to take her son to New Zealand after winning a $1 million jackpot Wednesday night at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas.

Linda Fleury of Eagle River hit the prize on the Wheel of Fortune after putting $20 into the slot machine just after 8 p.m. The jackpot rang in at $1,064,121.24, Hard Rock officials said today.

“I thought I was seeing things,” Fleury said in a statement released by the casino. “I just sat there, stunned.”

  1. I'd like to see how many Millions were taken IN to pay One Million Out. Anyone have a rough guess?

  2. and MOST of those jackpots are paid out over 20 years......sooooo......50K/yr before taxes.....53% tax on gambling winnings not offset by losses......means an additional 32.5K a year.....not bad for a double sawbuck investment.....

  3. I want ALL this woman's future comps from the Hard Rock....that's all.
