A man who had been hit by a vehicle Monday after attending the Electric Daisy Carnival died about 1 p.m. Saturday at University Medical Center as a result of his injuries, according to Nevada Highway Patrol officials.
Emergency responders said the 31-year-old Florida man and two friends were crossing Las Vegas Boulevard near gate six at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway at 4:31 a.m. on Monday. They had been attending EDC and the man had been drinking, officials said.
That’s when the truck, driven by a 61 year-old woman from Mesquite, struck the man, who did not cross on a designated crosswalk, officials said. The woman was not attending EDC.
Officials said initial investigations found the accident to be a result of pedestrian error.

This isn't an EDC issue. People get drunk in casinos and then get hit by cars all the time on the Strip. I never hear anyone demand that the casinos be moved out. I think it's amazing that with 300,000 people at the event there were so few incidents. I welcome the EDC crowd back and hope they they hold more frequent events, we can definitely use the money they bring.
So few incidents? HA, if only you knew. They will not report incidents that occur, especially fatalities.
If you only knew how many people die every night in hotels in Vegas. It's hilarious how naive people are these days to expect the news to report incidents that bring bad publicity. Then they would lose all the revenue of people coming here.
Think about it... it'll start to make more sense. People have died jumping inside of Luxor, and off the strat... but you don't hear about that.
Truth is, there is no need for a conspiracy. Just ask people in the hospitality industry here.
And for all you ravers that say "Oh well the death didn't ACTUALLY occur at EDC." Oh you're right, but while EDC doesn't promote drug use, the crowd it brings does. No Thanks, go back to LA.
Straightedge for life!
Pedestrian error. Yes, that's right. Drivers aren't to blame in Vegas. It's always the pedestrian's fault. Ever notice that? Not speed, not distracted drivers, not plain stupid incompetence on the part of the driver, no, pedestrian error.
The only error that most of these pedestrians make is coming to this idiotic town.
I would also add that it's fairly incredible that a person should die after being in a Las Vegas hosptial for a week. I suppose our crappy health system isn't to blame for that either?
Patient error - patient got sick or injured in Nevada resulting in death.
Mitzy, you say that the media won't report incidents, especially fatalities. What story are we commenting on right now? There isn't a big consiracy to cover up deaths and there are not people dying every night in hotels as you claim. Deaths are reported. I've read about pedestrians getting hit, people jumping to their death, and others quite a few times over the years. It's not an everyday thing though. Casinos, like any business, don't want negative publicity, but that doesn't mean that the stores don't get reported.

Another casino death in the news. That cover up conspiracy theory isn't looking so good.
