It’s another episode in the life of our occasional fashion and party contributor reality TV starlet and Playboy beauty Laura Croft:

On a recent night out in Las Vegas, I saw more drunk girls than I have ever seen in my life. I tried to go into three different bathrooms, all on the same property, that were shut down due to girls vomiting all over them. There also were girls being wheeled out in wheelchairs.

I’ve been there, and it’s embarrassing. When you love to have fun and party, it’s bound to happen at some point. But if you’re really planning to tie one on, there are some precautions we ladies should take.

First of all, wear panties. This should be common sense, but I’ve seen ladies that do not possess this trait. Also, try to wear pants, shorts or a knee-length dress/skirt. People are probably going to try to take pictures of you, so at least make sure that certain areas are covered. Who doesn’t love taking pictures of drunk people and sending them to all of their friends? Don’t be the girl with your butt hanging out!

Unless you are auditioning for “Girls Gone Wild,” make sure that your top half is covered, too. If you’re going strapless, make sure that everything is contained and won’t flop out. Flashing on purpose can be fun, but when you’re passed out in a wheelchair, it loses its touch.

When you’re out drinking and having fun with your friends, it’s difficult to say no sometimes. This is especially true when it comes to taking shots. Many of the shots ladies like to take are a mixture of all kinds of crap, and this is what can push you over the edge.

It’s best to stick with one liquor with a mixer that isn’t filled with sugar or caffeine. This seems to prevent blackouts and sickness that lead to embarrassment. Also, those five-hour energy shots work miracles. I take half before I start drinking and then the other half while drinking, and I’m golden.

I was very thankful for five-hour energy last weekend at the 2012 Electric Daisy Carnival at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. That was one of the most incredible things I have ever witnessed. So many lights, so much music, and so many crazy outfits.

There was quite a variety, people in costumes of all kinds, as well as casual clothing. Some people really went all out, with very detailed makeup and body paint. And then there were people wearing bathrobes.

Many of the girls I spoke with had been planning their outfits for months. I wish that I would’ve known this. Next time, I will be sure to plan ahead. This is the one place where truly anything goes -- the crazier, the better!

Some girls made their own costumes or had them made. But for those of us who are less creative, there are companies that specialize in making outfits/costumes for these events. My great friends over at J. Valentine have made a ton of these, some even equipped with LED lights. Check out all the options on their website JValentineCatalog.com, and stock up for next time.

With music festivals like this becoming more prevalent all over the world, it might be a good idea to have something to wear on hand. EDC outfits were even being sold at the shops in McCarran Airport. This is nice if you’re in a pinch, but I wouldn’t wait until I landed to get my party gear.

Even though I’m still tired from this year’s festivities, I already want to start making plans for next year. I’m sure after everyone sees the photos and video footage of this year, next year will be even wilder.

Laura returns in two weeks with another fashion and party column.

  1. Wow Sun this is one super reporter you have. Unbelievable that this article is how a woman should dress so she can go out and get bombed out of her mind. Now this is information that we need. No wonder other states think we're some foriegn country in Nevada.

  2. This is good, practical advice. Do you know where some of these young ladies will be tonight?

  3. Chuck--get out much? For better or for worse (and mostly worse) any Strip casino security guard, restroom attendant, club waitress, whatever, will tell you things go on like this every night of the week.

We call it "amateur hour" since it's mostly out-of-towners who, without the constraints of their at-home moral code, tend to do things they might not do otherwise.

But that's why people come to Vegas and that's why we have mop buckets ever-ready.

When they say What Happens Here, Stays Here it really only refers to the vomit as the photos make it around the world in no time.

So, if Laura Croft's advice can help even a couple of gals avoid that sort of embarrassment then it's probably worth printing.
