Sheldon Adelson
Apparently the lunch hour Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney carved out for Las Vegas casino mogul Sheldon Adelson a few weeks ago was time well spent.
The Wall Street Journal is reporting today that Adelson is prepared to write a $10 million check to Restore Our Future, the Super PAC supporting Romney’s presidential bid.
During the primary, Adelson and his family contributed $21 million to a super PAC backing failed candidate Newt Gingrich. At the time, Adelson said he had no problem with Romney but wanted to support Gingrich.
It was also surmised that Adelson’s secondary goal was to keep Gingrich’s campaign alive long enough that Romney could overcome momentum from Rick Santorum.
Adelson reportedly met with Romney during his last campaign swing through Las Vegas—a visit that also netted his campaign an estimated $2 million from a fundraiser hosted by Donald Trump.

What kind of a name is "Restore Our Future"? How does one restore something that has not happened yet? You could say "secure", sure. But "restore"? How can you have any confidence in a candidate whose fundraising arm chooses such an nonsensical, oxymoronic name?
This man has proven how dumb he is when he sent millions to Newt, and now he is proven how more dumb he is to send millions to Willard. The Supreme Court really blew it when they allow millionaires and billionaires to buy elections. They don't care about the middle and lower classes at all.
Something that history has proven, Mr. Adelson does not tend to back winning candidates.
He has backed many law changes and candidates, both local, state and national and most never pass or get elected.
His ego is too big to fail, but his logic proves otherwise.
All the super PAC money would be better spent assisting to pay the national debt rather than pushing buffoons in this year's election cycle. Or for education, police, firemen. Anyone except politicians. There are too many of them and all the wrong person for the job.
Restore Our Future??? BS, it should be called BUY Our Future. Adelson would love to OWN Romney and thus own all of us. Are there really folks that are that simple out there that would vote for Romeny knowing their vote is being bought by the rich?
"Are there really folks that are that simple out there that would vote for Romeny knowing their vote is being bought by the rich?"
Yes...There are.
To Cmon....so I guess you think Obama is pulling his campaign money out of a hat! Get with it....THE RICH ARE ALSO SUPPORTING HIM....
Hey how's that private sector doing? Unemployment numbers just came out, 06/14/12 another "weekly jobless claims shows unexpected increase. The Labor Department said Thursday that weekly unemployment benefit applications rose 6,000 to a seasonally adjusted 386,000, an increase from an upwardly revised 380,000 the previous week. And in other news, Foreclosures Spike 9% in May. I'm sure Obama's October surprise will most likely be the race card since that's all he has. Only this time Hope and Change is Hype and Blame and we won't be fooled by phony unemployment figures or lying liberal press buddies, or negative attacks, since that's all he has. ONE AND DONE, NOBAMA 2012!
Oh and the America hating George Soros Gave More than 50 Times as much as Koch Brothers to Anti-American liberal causes and the Liberals Still Scream Foul. So here is the race in a nutshell: Capitalism vs. Socialism: it's us, the hard working tax-paying, god loving Americans against the Sycophant Hollywood crowd supported by the liberal media and the Welfare receiving, EBT using, lazy, sucking the teat of America dry. Only this time your Hope and Change is Hype and Blame and we won't be fooled by your phony unemployment figures or your lying liberal press buddies, or your negative attacks, since that's all you have. YOU WILL BE DEFEATED! ONE AND DONE, NOBAMA 2012!
@milt1007
You don't speak for all "hard working tax-paying, god loving Americans". I am one and would never vote for Romney. I'll give the Republicans one thing though - they have been brilliant in the marketing of their party to Christians. Through two specific ideals(Gay Marriage and Abortion), they have been successful in tricking many Christians into thinking they have only one choice in political parties. The truth is, Republicans are DESPERATELY hanging on to the Gay Marriage and Abortion issues, because that is all they have to convince Christians to support them. You separate those two things from Republicans, and there is NOTHING they do or support that is even REMOTELY Christian like. The multi-billionaire CEOs that run the Republican party are greedy, murderous, thieves. They have ruined Millions of lives by the way they haphazardly run their companies and discard "hard working tax-paying, god loving Americans" like they are GARBAGE.
@Hacked: Just replace Gay Marriage and Abortion with Race and Blame and then replace Republican with Democrat and thats how this hard working, tax paying US citizen feels.
@HackLife Gay/Schmay, I could care less about those issues, "It's the economy stupid," and we've been taking it in the shorts for the last 3.5 years. The curtain has been pulled back on the community organizer, and we see he's a leftist socialist who put out policies that have ruin this economy, just check the polls, they are trending right. America is finally waking up, and we are chomping at the bit to vote Obama and minions out of office!
Mr. Adelson a $10 million check is enough to buy a president? Mitt Romney like you is one of the 1%, I'd think $10 million is nothing more than chump change to Romney. Maybe you should consider kicking it up some, say to a billion. That way the American people may not feel like our politicians are cheap prostitutes, just prostitutes.
