Okay, Californians. Is it not enough that avocados revel in your rich soil, or that you have legitimate pro sports and a coastline? I recently read about a deal. A screaming deal. GotoBus.com, an online marketplace for brick and mortar travel suppliers, is offering two packages from LA to Las Vegas so cheap, it’s almost worth flying to the city of angels in order to catch a ride back to the city of sin.
Both are three-day, two-night jaunts that include round-trip bus transportation and a tour guide (of varying senses of humor, according to customer reviews), accommodations at the Stratosphere and a tour of the Ethel M Chocolate Factory in Henderson. Both also visit the Grand Canyon, but one hits the South Rim (with a Hoover Dam cherry on top), while the other focuses on the West Rim. Departure times are available Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. And the price? $99. If you buy two tickets, your third-wheel buddy gets to crash the party for free, provided he or she shares your digs.
I can’t book a room at a decent hotel on a Saturday for $99, and I live here. I hope the Angelinos rub it in by rolling through town and spending their extra cash in our casinos. It’s the least they can do.
