The man fatally struck by a vehicle Sunday afternoon on residential property has been identified as 46-year-old Leonardo Valdes, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Lt. Mark Reddon said the accident happened at 2:43 p.m. at 3495 Hacienda Ave., near Pecos Road in the eastern valley, where a yard sale was taking place.

A 1998 Chevrolet C1500 pickup truck was traveling west on Hacienda Avenue when it veered into the oncoming lanes and eventually ended up on a residential driveway, police said.

The truck struck three people in the driveway, killing Valdes, who was a Las Vegas resident, police said. A 68-year-old woman who suffered moderate injuries and a 58-year-old man who suffered minor injuries were transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, police said.

The driver of the pickup truck, 76-year-old Rogelio Nunez, also suffered moderate injuries and was transported to the hospital with his passenger, a 64-year-old woman, police said. She suffered minor injuries.

The accident was the 59th traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year. Police are still investigating what led to the accident.
