Coroner ID’s baby found in trash bin; no word given on cause of death

The infant found dead in a Las Vegas trash bin earlier this month has been identified as Baby Girl Robinson, according to the Clark County Coroner's Office.

A maintenance worker found the infant's body July 18 in a commercial trash bin at the Rancho Mesa Apartments, 2881 N. Rancho Drive. The apartments are near the North Las Vegas Airport.

A day later, Metro Police announced they had identified the baby's mother — a juvenile who allegedly hid her pregnancy and the child's birth from family and friends.

The Coroner's Office has not determined how the baby died or if she was stillborn. Police are continuing the investigation.
