Have the schools stopped teaching English? When I hear a young person describe an event, I shudder when I hear them say something like, “Me and her went to the store.”
I remember when I was a student; we were taught to say, “She and I went to the store.” We were taught that you never put yourself first; would you say, “Her went to the store” or, “Me went to the store”?
I watch some of the courtroom-judge programs on TV and can’t believe the poor English that the younger generation uses. I am sure the judges hate hearing this poor English but don’t have time to correct the people.
I notice a lot of people can’t tell time but by a digital clock, and very few can make change without a computer. What is this world coming to? So many do not know the basics.
