Coroner ID’s victim in Sunday shooting; Metro releases description of suspect

The Clark County Coroner’s Office has identified the Las Vegas man who died Sunday after a late-night altercation east of the Strip.

Brandon Maurice Campbell, 25, died of gunshot wounds to the head and chest, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office. His death has been ruled a homicide.

Campbell was found dead about 10:20 p.m. Sunday at the Mark Twain Suites, 955 E. Twain Ave., according to Metro Police.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, 27 to 31 years old, 5-feet-8 and approximately 280 pounds. He is said to have a large Afro hairstyle and beard and was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue shorts.

The suspect is believed to have driven a white, four-door car with Nevada license plates. The car has one broken window covered by blue plastic.
