The North Las Vegas Police Department arrested a man suspected of two vehicles thefts and an attempted kidnapping on July 8.
North Las Vegas Police officials said officers took Javonn Caver into custody without incident as he was walking down the street near West Lake Mead Boulevard and Losee Road. Caver was booked at the Las Vegas Detention Center on two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon and one count of attempted kidnapping.
Officials said Caver was suspected of pointing a handgun at a woman pumping gas at an AM/PM located at the intersection of Cheyenne Avenue and Civic Center Drive, and demanding she get in the car. However, the victim ran, and Caver took off with the car headed toward Interstate 15.
Officials said Caver crashed into two other cars on an I-15 bridge destroying his car on his escape. He then stopped a Toyota sedan, ordered the driver out and stole the car.
