Two-alarm fire strikes Las Vegas Boulevard South apartment complex

Apartment complex fire

A fire displaced four adults and four children, damaged seven apartment units and left one cat gasping for oxygen at the Paradise Spa Country Living apartment complex Friday on Las Vegas Boulevard South.

Clark County spokeswoman Stacey Welling said smoke and flames greeted Clark County firefighters when they arrived on the scene around 4:20 p.m. Four units were caught in the two-alarm fire, and three others were damaged from smoke and water, Welling said. It took firefighters 40 minutes to put out the fire, Welling said.

No one was injured from the fire, but firefighters did save a cat, administering oxygen to it, Welling said. The damage to the apartment units is estimated to be $275,000, Welling said.

Welling said only three of the units were occupied. Paradise Spa Country Living has offered to move the displaced residents into other open units on the property.
