Trailer fire

A late-night trailer fire in Henderson displaced one couple and caused an damage estimated at $1,500, a fire official said.

Doug Koopman, Henderson Fire battalion chief, said firefighters responded about 11 p.m. to the trailer fire, near the intersection of Lake Mead Parkway and Pawnee Lane, Koopman said.

A husband and wife occupying the trailer had been awakened by the smell of smoke and the husband discovered the fire in the box spring of his bed. The couple left the trailer and called 911. Firefighters extinguished the fire.

The couple and a Henderson Police officer were treated on the scene for smoke inhalation, Koopman said.
