Dog killed, two residents displaced in morning fire

Dog killed in fire

Two adults were displaced and a dog was killed in a fire this morning at an apartment in the central valley, the Clark County Fire Department said.

The fire was reported at 7:37 a.m. at a two-story apartment complex at 2670 Van Patten St., near Sahara Avenue and Paradise Road.

The fire severely damaged one apartment, and three others suffered smoke damage, the fire department said. Total damage estimate is $30,000.

The displaced residents are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
