Changes we need start with voters

Conservatives are angry at the Supreme Court and Chief Justice John Roberts but they shouldn’t be. They should be angry at much of the American population and focus their efforts on energizing people to make changes at the ballot box.

The Supreme Court just affirmed the federal government’s claim that it has the right to mandate that all Americans must take a specific action of its choosing and if that action isn’t taken, those Americans will be taxed at whatever amount the government chooses.

Health care in America is a mess; too expensive and too inefficient, and it needs to be reformed. But I have to ask, just how much power are we willing to cede to our federal government?

Congress’ taxing power is almost without limits according to the Constitution, and the court just affirmed as much. So we now have to decide if we really want our elected representatives to be people who think it is OK for government to tell us what we must do and then tax us if we don’t do it. That decision is really up to us.
