Clark County School District Police confiscated a loaded gun from a teen Monday morning at Centennial High School, officials said.
Lt. Ken Young said school officers received a tip late Monday morning indicating a student may have been carrying a weapon on the Centennial campus.
Officers contacted the 16-year-old boy in the school and allegedly found him carrying a 9 mm handgun, Young said.
The boy was arrested in connection with possession of a dangerous weapon on school property, Young said. He was transported and booked into the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center.
Young said it didn’t appear the boy made any threats or had any conflicts with other people.
He was arrested without incident, causing no disruption to the school day, Young said. The school was never placed on lockdown.
