HBO's 'Luck' screening at Mandalay Bay

HBO hosted an advance screening of its new original series “Luck” at Mandalay Bay Theater on Thursday night, and the show’s stars in attendance included Dustin Hoffman and his wife Lisa Gottsegen, Nick Nolte (sporting a unique tan/light yellow raincoat, a fedora and a beard), Dennis Farina, Jill Hennessy and Richard Kind.

“Luck,” from director Michael Mann and “Deadwood” creator David Milch, is a behind-the-track look at the world of horse racing -- the owners, the gamblers and the jockeys. The screening was preceded by a reception in the lobby of the theater, the most recent former home of Disney’s “The Lion King,”, and the post-screening soiree was at Chef Alain Ducasse’s Mix at the Hotel at Mandalay Bay.

“Luck” premieres Sunday at 9 p.m. on HBO. Thanks to Scott Harrison for his good “Luck” photo gallery.
