Metro Police say a 43-year-old man died Tuesday night while being booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
Police say Taxi Cab Authority officers brought the man into the detention center shortly before 7 p.m. following a dispute over a fare near the intersection of 15th and Fremont streets.
The man, who allegedly was combative with officers, began to exhibit signs of a medical episode while being booked, police said.
Detention center personnel performed CPR while an ambulance was called, police said. The man was transported to Valley Hospital at 7:14 p.m. and died 30 minutes later, police said.
Police said no charges were filed against the man he was never booked into the jail.
Metro’s homicide division is investigating the man’s whereabouts prior to his encounter with the Taxi Cab Authority and is looking for witnesses who might have information pertaining to the case.
The Clark County coroner’s office will release the cause of death and the man’s name, pending notification of next of kin.

Come to Vegas and don't pay your cab fare, we'll kill you.
guy dies in police custody and is accused of "resisting" ... laughable and classic. LVPD is nothing but a bunch of ignorant thugs.
Rent a Car!
The guy was booked by Metro, but in my opinion the autopsy will show the Taxicab Authority manhandled him and beat him so badly that the guy was near death by the time they got him to the detention center. In my opinion the Taxicab Authority is out of control and only answers to the monopoly of cab owners in this town. But even the Taxicab Authority won't be able to sweep this one under the rug, because the autopsy will show any damage to this man's body and whether or not excessive force was used.
