The 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show kicks off Tuesday showcasing the tech world’s most promising offerings to the industry’s best and brightest. But with numerous A-list stars and entertainers slated to attend, you can be sure to expect a number of exclusive parties and events reserved for only the highest echelons of consumer technology geekdom.
Here’s a taste of what’s on tap for this year’s CES after sunset:
Tonight, alt-rockers Nickelback gets the tech-fest started with a set at AT&T’s party at the Palms’ Rain Nightclub, while the Photoimaging Manufacturers and Distributors Association honors the best of the imaging industry with its annual awards and after-party at Aria’s Haze Nightclub.
Tuesday night will likely have CES attendees party-hopping among numerous kick-off events, including a DJ set from Will.i.am at iHeartRadio’s party at Haze. Croatian classical-rock duo 2Cellos are slated to play a private reception hosted by Sony Corp. Chairman/CEO Howard Stringer. CES “Entertainment Matters” ambassador Eliza Dushku will host Spike TV’s VIP party at Tryst in the Wynn. Mobile accessory maker iHip is throwing a Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi-hosted celebration at Planet Hollywood’s Gallery featuring performances by Jose “Hyde” Cotto, Mas Flow, Luny Tunes and DJ Nelson; former New York Giants linebacker Carl Banks also is expected to appear.
Wednesday evening kicks off at the Paris with Monster Inc.’s annual Retailer Awards and concert featuring Chicago. Club favorite Tiesto will spin a 90-minute set at Encore’s XS for a private event celebrating the launch of his digital series “In the Booth.” The Parnassus Group hosts its annual “It Won’t Stay in Vegas” Tweet House blogger party at Stirling Club at Turnberry Towers; expected celebrity guests include “Heroes’” Greg Grunberg and comedian Wayne Brady. If you missed Dushku on Tuesday night, you can catch her again at the Lavo Entertainment Matters Party at the Palazzo, then wrap up at the Mirage’s 1OAK for MashBash, where mashup DJs A Plus D will spin in honor of CES’ Mashable Awards winners and attendees.
Thursday night is replete with awards ceremonies, including the International Academy of Web Television’s inaugural gala and the Technology and Engineering Emmy Awards, both at the Venetian. The evening’s entertainment highlight, however, will arguably be a performance from Ludacris at the CES Soul Party at Haze’s Industry Night.
The 2012 International CES wraps up in style Friday night with its official closing bash at Tao at the Venetian; attendees can expect expedited entry and an open bar.

Happy to see CES back in town. It's great for our local economy. The congressional candidate for the area, Ruben Kihuen, was telling me that half a million people come into town for this.
