The not-so-Tweet side of the caucuses
Volunteers count and record caucus totals at Clark County GOP headquarters Sunday morning.
Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012 | 2 a.m.
The Nevada Republican Party boasted that it would announce the results of Saturday’s caucuses via Twitter, but results were slow to come as the caucuses were marred by delays, irregularities and controversy. As Twitter users waited for the results, they made their opinions clear — in 140 characters or less. If you’re new to Twitter, the symbol @ goes before a user’s name. For example, Sun columnist Jon Ralston is @RalstonFlash. Hashtags, #, are user-created labels to help people search for topics. The Sun searched for hashtags related to the caucuses, including #nvcaucus and #nvgop. Below is a small sampling of the comments, which come from a variety of political activists, journalists and other interested people.
SATURDAY — CAUCUS DAY
Precinct 1721 kicked me out. Leader wrongly told crowd I wasn’t allowed to be there. They booed me & called me a spy. #nvcaucus rules!

Just think if there’d been, as predicted by #nvgop, high turnout in Clark County. We’d soon be rolling into Day Three of counting. #nvcaucus
@elizcrum Elizabeth Crum (E!!)
Iowa’s caucus was bad, too, but they turned out 122,555, set a record. NV will have less than ‘08 ,and this cycle much more time to prepare.
@RalstonFlash Jon Ralston
In every other state Ron Paul tripled his vote count from 2008. They are trying to tell us that in Nevada he got fewer votes in 2012?#nvgop
@flix1
Just got a CNN Breaking news alert...thought it might be #nvcaucus results..but only about the Super Bowl... #nvgop

The #NVGOP must release all caucus results immediately,or be complicit in the escalating suspicion of fraud. #nvcaucus #NVVoteFraud #RonPaul

Jobs, the economy and deficit spending LVS staffers. Others might get distracted by your diversionary tactics but I sure won't.
Revise/reform NV from a caucus state to a primary. End of story.

Washington Post/ABC News Poll:
In a general-election test, Obama leads Romney 52 to 43 percent among all Americans.
The public, by 53-36 percent, a 17-point margin, thinks Obama better understands the economic problems people are having.
Obama leads Romney by 55-37 percent in trust to better protect the interests of the middle class.
Obama leads Romney by 10 points, 52-42 percent, in trust to handle taxes.
Uh Oh! Maybe republicans should compare the number of people Romney fired to the number of terrorists Obama has had killed and make a case for Romney on the Commander-in-Chief issue.
Just a thought for a party grabbing at straws.
A one time poll of 1000 Americans is meaningless. The only poll that counts is the one on Nov 6, 2012.
