Just before midnight, when hundreds of thousands of people on the Strip look toward the sky for the $500,000 fireworks show, Felix Grucci Jr. will be nervously awaiting the climax of what has been a year of preparation. “I’m 61 years old. When will The Powers That Be realize that Fireworks by Grucci puts on a lousy show? It's eight minutes long. So what. The average Boston Pops fireworks show lasts at least 30 minutes.
There's no subtlety, no choreography, no movement. Seven hotels fired off replica identical displays. The Strat, with it's limited roof area sent out horizontal bursts. Big whoop. Why not differnet displays? Movement up and down the Strip?
Still the same 8 minutes of a finale. No start. No middle. Just an ending.
How about something different? Anything different from last year. And the year before and before that and...
I watched the show and listened to the music again this year and again I wonder why bother with the music? The fireworks do not dance to the music do not move with the music. I just don't get it.
Honestly. Is this the best Fireworks by Grucci can do?
