  1. Was the gang bangers first in line to give up there weapons?

  2. Looking at the photos of what was turned in it looks like mostly old and junk weapons. Purchase of AR-15s is illegal in California, so are larg capacity magazines, if you own an AR-15 it must be rgistered with the police. I wonder how many of these weapons work, are stolen or were stolen in order to be turned in for the gift card? Looks more and more the only weapons in LA will belong to the gang bangers and police, Joe citizen will be out in the cold.

  3. 75 scarry plastic guns, the rest junk anyway, the food card can be traded for drugs or towards a better gun.

  4. Noble effort but futile.

  5. The police bought back 8,000 guns since 2009. How many guns did the public buy since 2009? How many illegal guns did the gangs and bad guys buy or steal since 2009? It is a good program for those people that just want to get rid of their guns. Most likely, 99.9% of those people would never commit a crime with their gun. So, the bad guys still have their guns and now they have 8,000 potential people they can turn into victims.
