An infant from Las Vegas died of blunt force trauma last week in California, police in California City said, but details surrounding the circumstances were not immediately available.
Paramedics received calls Dec. 18 that a 1-year-old had stopped breathing at a home in California City, police there said.
The baby was taken to Tehachapi Hospital in Tehachapi. Police said Aalyiah Jerkins was later transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, where the child was pronounced dead about 10 p.m. on Dec. 20.
