LOS ANGELES — Jack Klugman, the prolific, craggy-faced character actor and regular guy who was loved by millions as the messy one in TV's "The Odd Couple" and the crime-fighting coroner in "Quincy, M.E.," died Monday, a son said. The man, Jack Klugman, was the finest human being you'd ever want to meet. For years, he was a local fixture in Rancho California, now Temecula, California, where he was close to his passion, the horses. Always happy to share good moments, greet all who approached him, he made your day just a bit more sunnier. Jack Klugman was like sunshine to those around him.
Race horses was a life passion for Jack, and it was not uncommon to see him go up to a favorite horse and give that horse a kiss on the nose and a loving pat. When walking through the barns, you could tell the horses knew their friend was near with the nickering, neighing, and vying for his attention, it was always amazing. The horse racing world will truly miss Jack Klugman.
Today, a little bit of sunshine was taken away from the Earth, but the Heavens shines brighter with Jack Klugman there.
Blessings and Peace,

I absolutely loved him as Mr. Potamkin in the 1960's movie Goodbye Columbus. The character was so true to life; I still remember him lecturing Ali McGraw about getting a coat with a fur collar for the winter. A wonder actor.
