Republican Gov. Brian Sandoval said Wednesday he will support a quarter-cent sales tax increase in Clark County to pay for more police officers. Sandoval cited Clark County voters’ approval in 2004 of a half-cent sales tax increase — only a quarter-cent has been enacted so far — for police. “Given the importance of public safety to Clark County’s economy and to the citizens of our state’s most populated county, I plan to support the decision of voters of Clark County and sign this measure if it passes the 2013 Legislature,” Sandoval said in a statement provided at the request of ...

So this clown supports taxes that are raised by other people, just not taxes raised by HIM. What a joke this guy is. Screw over State Employees to balance YOUR budget, but support outside taxes for counties. Nice. Way to support your own Public Safety Department Sandoval, oh wait, you don't.
Me? I'm a big supporter of Metro. I think they do a great job in keeping us safe by taking the bad guys off the streets - one way or the other (and I don't much care which way it is). But another tax increase? Puleeeze! One of the reasons I moved from WI was the lie of "temporary" tax increases that never were rescinded. There was no sales tax until the creepy-crawlers in Madison enacted a 3% one with the promise to Wisconsinites that it would remain so. Yeah, sure! Not too long after, a "small" increase was "temporarily" added. I'm not sure but by now, with all the "temporary" increases, it's probably over 7%. I see the same BS going on in NV; be it with "temporary" sales tax increases or "temporary" surcharges. I guess those creepy-crawlers in Carson City figure they can pull the wool over our eyes time and again and we will not notice. But, as Abe Lincoln said, "You can fool some of the people some of the time and you can fool some of the people all of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time." It's time to resist. If Metro does need more funds to keep us safe - see to it they receive them! Then cut some of the wasteful spending to make up for it and don't bother trying to convince me that creepy-crawler politicians don't waste tons of money every year!
Sandoval ran on a platform of no new taxes or to work on cutting from the budget. I find it interesting that in the past few months or so, he's been singing a far different tune. Whether or not this tax increase is justified, it does send a message that Sandoval's no tax pledge brings back memories of Bush I's promise. Is there really no way to trim budgets further?
Sandoval= No Jobs and High Taxes
