Since Shelley Berkley didn’t win her race for Senate, she won’t get to formally weigh in on any of President Barack Obama’s nominees to fill Cabinet positions. But she’s making her opinion known about Obama’s rumored defense secretary pick nonetheless, and it’s scathing. Reports have identified former Republican Sen. Chuck Hagel from Nebraska as Obama’s most likely pick for the job, one of a number of departments that will be getting new chiefs next year. Berkley has serious issues with Hagel’s past positions on Middle East issues. “Chuck Hagel’s dismal record on issues affecting the Middle East stands in sharp ...

Nobody cares what losers think. Nobody at all...
I voted for ya Shelly, but you're too far left on this one. Hagel's well respected in Congress and Pres. Obama's is wise to consider some from the other side of the aisle in his cabinet.
Can't take comments seriously unless they come from qualified people.
If the president is happy with Chuck Hagel than so am I. He's more than qualified for the position.
Democrat voted for Obama - He won so get over it
Obama will never truly back Isreal
The Obama Middle-East disengagement policy leaves a power vacuum for al-Qaeda and the Taliban and the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas and Hezbollah and the Revolutionary Guard and Salafi Islamist are alive AND taking over the governments of Iraq, Egypt, Libya, Sudan, Afghanistan, Lebanon, and Yemen.
As America is retreating from a limited role in the Middle East all rule of law is in a meltdown. Without America lawlessness is taking root as extreme Islamist groups fill the power vacuum. With the Arab Spring there are fewer central governments with any ability to control extreme islamist. The US is no longer relevant.
June 2009, Cairo: Obama apologized to the Muslim world saying that post 9/11 "The fear and anger led us [America] to act contrary to our ideals." That would be Bush gathering intelligence and using drones against our enemies and keeping prisoners in GITMO.
A Viet Nam veteran and not qualified for the position? Interesting how the Democrats thought pattern operates.
Hagel is more in tune with Obama and the base of the Democratic party on Mideast policy.
Berkley is a very strong supporter of Israel. That is not in step with Obama or the base of the party.
She and her jewish supporters will have to get use to the fact that the Democratic party is no longer a strong supporter of Israel.
Ms. Berkley doesn't believe that the old testament christian/jewish god is real or she would trust it to protect Israel rather than U.S. money and military support. She lacks faith.
