Updated Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012 | 9:55 p.m.

Moisture from rain caused two power outages in the Las Vegas Valley Thursday night that left approximately 2,000 customers without electricity, NV Energy officials said.

The outages began around 6:20 p.m. near Lindell Road and Sahara Avenue. The second occurred at 8 p.m. near Pecos Road and Washington Avenue.

Officials said power was restored to both areas shortly after 9 p.m.
