Suspects escape after apparent robbery, shooting at furniture store

Metro Police are investigating a possible shooting and robbery at a consignment furniture center near Serene Avenue and Eastern Avenue on Tuesday.

Police received reports of gunfire and a robbery at the Home Consignment Center in the 2300 block of E. Serene Ave., around 3:45 p.m. Police said two men had attempted to rob the store while customers were inside, and they believe at least one shot was fired in the incident.

Police said they could not confirm who fired the shot; no one in the store was injured. The suspects escaped before police arrived. Police also did not know if anything was stolen.

Metro detectives are investigating the incident.
