It was a Round 6 knockout punch seen -- over and over and over and over again -- on Saturday night via ESPN (and other sports outlets): Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Marquez” literally floored Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao at MGM Grand Garden Arena in a decisive victory in their fourth meeting.
(Marquez won the first fight, Pacquiao the next two, the most recent of which even Pacquiao thought he had lost, also at MGM Grand.)
Team A&E was at Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s VIP and gala opening night for “Soul2Soul” at the Venetian, so, thankfully, Team Sports, aka our colleagues in Sports at the Las Vegas Sun, covered fight night thoroughly, extensively and excellently.

The spectacle, er, boxing match also included Curtis Jackson, aka 50 Cent, descending from the ceiling to create a spectacle, er, sing “My Life” and kick off another career as a boxing promoter, on Saturday night for fighter Yuriorkis Gamboa (50 already is a BFF of Las Vegas resident and boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr.).
Celebrity and VIP attendees at the big fight: Mitt and Ann Romney, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Ervin “Magic” Johnson, Wayne Gretzky, Metta World Peace, Gordon Ramsay, Mike Tyson, Anthony Anderson, Sugar Ray Leonard and Michael Pena.
“Fantasy” at the Luxor headliner Lorena Peril belted out the national anthem. No reports that she mangled the words.
