Washington — Jim DeMint’s announcement last week that he will leave the Senate in January surprised his colleagues. But the news is not exactly shaking things up. In fact, it may help to calm things down. DeMint, a Republican from South Carolina, was the self-appointed father of the Tea Party movement in the Senate, the officially appointed chairman of the Senate Republican Steering Committee and the founder of the Senate Conservatives Fund. Praises Jim DeMint is not a sign of respect, it's a sign of relief. Jim Demint was a obstructionist. Jim DeMint wasted the votes of the People of South Carolina. Jim DeMint wasted American's time. Jim DeMint gummed-up the gears that make America work.
The real reasonable Jim DeMint is leaving, or running away like a thief in the night, is because next year the Filibuster rule will be changed. Jim DeMint and Mitch McConnell will no longer be able to hold up appointments, or any bills by simply giving an objection. The rule change will revert back to the original Filibuster rule. A senator must talk, and talk and talk, to object.
Jim DeMint and other obstructionist are wasting America. Good riddance Jim DeMint.
How about inserting "Reid" in every instance where DeMint is mentioned? I think that would be a great idea. Listen, Longtime - the last time Dumbocrats instituted policies to plague the minority, it came back to haunt them and, as quickly as they regained the majority, they reversed their earlier stupid decision. Remember the "Office of the Special Counsel?" Dumbocrats jumped with joy when it went after Richard Nixon. Not so much when it went after "Sick" Willie and resulted in his impeachment. No difference with the filibuster, except, hopefully, when Conservatives regain the majority, Reid the Red will be long gone.

Your right. Reid use the same tactics. However, it's time for change. We cannot continue on the path of McConnell or DeMint.
Yes, Harry is receiving what he originally dished out. But we need a change. Hopefully, this is lesson learned, but I doubt it.
"When Reid complained"....... When hasn't Reid complained, that's all he done since 2007.
I am eager to see someone attacking Reid show the number of times he used the filibuster against Republican legislation compared with how often McConnell has used it. I happen to know the numbers, but let's see if the factually-challenged right-wingers know it, or if they just hate the president and reality more than they love our country. Heaven knows that's how their leaders, like Jim DeMint, feel.
I sincerely doubt that Michael Green really believes in Heaven.
Considering Senate Republicans are on a pace to filibuster almost three times more often than the Democrats did as the minority party in the 109th Congress there is no argument here who the obstructionists are.
McConnell has made history by being the first to filibuster HIS OWN BILL on the Senate floor.
Time for all this nonsense to stop and let everything come to the floor or an up or down vote.
The waco moving on to the heretic foundation is no surprise. They like people who don't care about the 99% and have no international perspective about what the rest of the developed world is doing.

Good speech and vote by Demint. The usual dumbtard teaparty bashers who post here should get a clue.
