Behind-the-scenes of ‘Sin City Rules’: Tears, heartbreak and anger

Advance copies of the debut episode of the Las Vegas-based reality TV show “Sin City Rules” premiering Sunday on TLC have shocked and alarmed some viewers. “It’s a character assassination,” one person who viewed a pirated copy told me. “It’s beyond the worst fears we first had.”

Another who viewed the pirated tape for critics said: “People are shredded to pieces. It’s really shocking. I don’t think when they signed on for this that they could have had any idea it was going to turn into this.”

Check out the cast profiles at TLC.com. Needless to say, train wreck TV will get great ratings, but this dysfunctional behavior is not the norm of our city and doesn’t serve us well.

We have so many great people here doing wonderful work for charities, it is absolutely not representative of the true Las Vegas. It will confirm the worst that people think Las Vegas is, but isn’t.

I was reliably told: “Now we’re seeing it for the first time, there’s lots of anger and tears among the reality cast. This is worse than ‘Jersey Shore’ or anything seen on ‘Real Housewives.’ A lot of people are going to be very angry after they watch it. Regular people simply don’t behave like this -- here or anywhere else.”

Neither TLC nor Evolution, the production company, is footing the bill for a premiere launch party. So Lana Fuchs, the owner of Billionaire Mafia, is throwing her own screening party at the Venetian on Sunday night with a red carpet for photographers.

The show’s chief protagonist, Lana made headlines with her outrageous May interviews with Barbara Walters and Dr. Phil.

As she openly declares on her website: “Whether you love me or hate me, you will remember me. I make the rules. ”
