Ashes of former TV weatherman to be placed with dog at pet cemetery

The ashes of a longtime Las Vegas TV weather personality known for his love of animals will be placed in a pet cemetery this weekend.

The family of John Fredericks, who appeared from 1995 to 2008 on KVBC Channel 3 — now KSNV — will place his ashes next to his beloved canine companion, Jordan, at the Craig Road Pet Cemetery.

A spokesman said the family reached its decision this week while preparing for Fredericks’ public memorial, scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Canyon Ridge Christian Church, 6200 W. Lone Mountain Road.

A memorial fund has been set up at Nevada State Bank to help cover Fredericks' burial costs.

Fredericks died Nov. 23.
