Metro seeks identity of armed robber

A suspect in the armed robbery of a convenience store near Boulder Highway and Tropicana Avenue was caught on surveillance.

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who robbed a southeast valley convenience store earlier this week.

Metro Police said about 4:15 a.m. Monday, the suspect walked into a store near Boulder Highway and Tropicana Avenue, displayed a gun to the clerk and demanded money. After the clerk complied, the suspect left.

The suspect is described as a black male with black hair and brown eyes, about 18 to 25 years old, 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-5 and weighing 140 to 160 lbs. During the robbery, he wore a blue bandana around his neck, a black beanie, a black sweatshirt, white T-shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

Police urge anyone with information to call Metro’s robbery detail at 828-3591 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
