Overnight construction
Drivers in the eastern valley might want to avoid South Nellis Boulevard overnight Thursday while crews construct a new concrete deck on a pedestrian bridge.
Clark County officials said South Nellis between East Charleston Boulevard and East Mohave Avenue would be closed from 9 p.m. Thursday to 5:30 a.m. Friday. Traffic will be detoured during construction.
Overnight work related to the construction will continue through September and is expected to cause intermittent lane closures on Nellis, the county said.
The pedestrian bridge is part of the new Las Vegas Wash trail project, which will run approximately 3 miles along the Las Vegas Wash at Charleston, through the Desert Rose Golf Course to Sloan Lane and connecting with the Flamingo-Arroyo Trail and Clark County Wetlands Park.
The project is funded by the Southern Nevada Public Lands Management Act.
