St. Thomas Road
The National Park Service closed a road at Lake Mead National Recreation Area because it was badly damaged from last week's storm, officials announced Monday.
St. Thomas Road, also called Approved Road 109, is closed to the public until further notice, officials said. Rangers urged visitors to take caution while traveling through the park, as roads are littered with debris or washed out completely.
The park will have heavy equipment and operators working to clear the debris in the next few weeks, officials said. All paved roads and access roads to developed areas are still open, they said.
