Gov. Brian Sandoval has held on to his prime-time speaking slot at the Republican National Convention this week after Tropical Storm Isaac forced the cancellation of the convention’s opening night.
Sandoval will speak at 6 p.m. Tuesday and is expected to keep to the original theme of the opening night: “We can do better.”
He will discuss his personal story growing up in a working class family and then accuse President Barack Obama of putting the American dream at risk.
Sandoval was originally set to speak Monday evening, but convention business was canceled until Tuesday because of the oncoming storm.
On a conference call Sunday, party officials said they plan to stick to a Tuesday-through-Thursday schedule while keeping an eye on Isaac, which is expected to develop into a hurricane by the time it reaches land Tuesday.

What a joke to the state he is. He flat out lied bout traveling to other states to bring businesses to Nevada to help the states 12+% unemployed. Instead he is going to the rnc convention to bolster his own image as the first hispanic governor of the once great state of Nevada. He has not done anything for Nevada the two years he has been in office now. He is and always was a pet of the ruling rich interests in Nevada. He has almost broken as many promises as Obama and Bush. When will Nevada learn. Thanks media for bolstering him and the other candidates with unlimited money and support to dooming Nevada to the bottom of nearly everything now.
You're kidding right? Sandoval is going to speak at the GOP National Convention under the theme "We can do better". As governor he's done little or nothing to improve Nevada in the areas of education, healthcare or jobs.
Sandoval is useless to Nevada so he might as well go to Florida. He can't create jobs in his own state so he can go to Florida and blame Obama for the problem that Bush created.
Sandoval ought to be staying put in Nevada working on how he as governor can "do better" with our high unemployment. Sandoval's plan to do nothing a la Herbert Hoover has been an abysmal failure.
He's the latest "pretty boy" of the A**hat GOP. He "endorsed" Rick (a**hat) Perry for President. Does anyone remember that? If not, then he will be a "darling" and "up and comer" for the loser GOP. You're pretty Brian, but you're a HINO, and will never go anywhere in the "big leagues" of politics. LOSER, AND WORTHLESS GOVERNOR of a clueless state.
