Want to win big this weekend?

You could buy a lottery ticket. But where's the fun in that?

Why not head to a casino, where slot machines will entertain with lights, music and action?

If you play progressives, you can win lottery-like riches. Statewide progressive jackpots can reach millions and have better odds than the lottery.

So, where do you find the biggest jackpots? Keep reading. Below, you'll find some of the top progressives available in Nevada as of 3 p.m. Wednesday.

    • Dan Healy and his wife Margaret Healy try their hand at winning Megabucks at Sunset Station. Megabucks is a progressive dollar slot machine, which means that the more money people put in, the bigger the jackpot gets. Jackpots hit have ranged from $7 million to $39 million.

      Megabucks

Megabucks gives players a shot at monster-sized jackpots that can rival lottery wins. The Nevada Megabucks progressive was the largest in the nation Wednesday, at $14.6 million. The counter jumped about 10 cents every second.

Since it started in 1986, 8,002 jackpots have hit for a total of $5.6 billion, manufacturer IGT said. Over the past two years, a Megabucks jackpot has hit about every 30 hours.

    • Wheel of Fortune

The slot may be based on the popular game show, but Pat and Vanna don't pay out like this.

Las Vegas casinos have Wheel of Fortune games linked to seven different progressive jackpots. The biggest Wednesday ticked up to more than $2.5 million. Others stood at $1.9 million, $1.4 million and $1.3 million.

    • Reel Adventure games

Take a magic carpet ride, solve a murder or pass go and you could become a millionaire.

The progressive jackpot linked to WMS' Reel Adventure games climbed to more than $1.3 million Wednesday. The jackpot is available on games such as Aladdin, Clue, Gone with the Wind, Lord of the Rings and Monopoly.

When a lucky player hits it, the jackpot will reset to $200,000.

    • Money Vault

Money Vault is one of the slots linked to the Millionaire 7s progressive jackpot from Bally Technologies. Wednesday afternoon, it was worth $1,045,354.

The slot is available in about three dozen casinos, including most of the Strip and downtown properties.

    • The Elvis slot from manufacturer IGT carries one of the larger progressive jackpots in Nevada.

      Elvis the King

Elvis is saving up for a big payday. The Elvis the King slot, from IGT, had a progressive jackpot of $553,007 Wednesday.

    • Michael Jackson

Elvis isn't the only music icon with deep pockets. Bally's Michael Jackson progressive was worth $588,547 Wednesday.

If the King of Pop isn't your type of game, Grease is linked to the same progressive.
