Metro SWAT officers have arrested a man who barricaded himself early Wednesday after reportedly trying to stab his roommate at a North Las Vegas apartment complex.
Witnesses flagged down North Las Vegas patrol officers shortly after 5 a.m. and reported seeing a man holding a knife chase a victim around the Los Cabos Villas, 4701 N. Lawrence St., said Chrissie Coon, North Las Vegas Police spokeswoman.
After officers arrived, the suspect barricaded himself inside his apartment unit, Coon said. Metro SWAT officers were called, and surrounding apartment units were evacuated.
SWAT officers removed the suspect from his apartment about 8:10 a.m., Coon said. She added that the suspect sustained minor injuries in the process but declined to release any other details on the removal.
The victim told police he had been in an argument with his roommate shortly before being chased out of the apartment.
The suspect will be booked on multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, Coon said.
