With nobody around, UNLV guard Anthony Marshall dunks on a breakaway against the University of Laval Monday August 20, 2012 at McGill University in Montreal. The Runnin’ Rebels are in the midst of a four-game exhibition tour in Canada.

MONTREAL — Bryce Dejean-Jones and Anthony Marshall each scored 18 points and UNLV dominated Laval from start to finish in a 97-62 victory Monday night in McGill’s Love Competition Hall. The Rebels, who are now 3-0 on this exhibition tour, return to this gym Tuesday night to face the host team McGill.

Savon Goodman and Carlos Lopez each chipped in 16 points, while Mike Moser (14) and Quintrell Thomas (10) also scored in double figures. Justin Hawkins was the only Rebel who didn’t score, but the senior, whom Moser said is battling illness, did contribute eight steals in 26 minutes.

UNLV shot 49 percent from the floor and just fell short of breaking the 100-point mark because it got a bit tired and actually lost the fourth quarter 15-10. And oh yeah, the game was played in 10-minute quarters instead of 20-minute halves.

Check lasvegassun.com later tonight for a full story and photo gallery from tonight’s victory and come back tomorrow for the final game of UNLV’s trip to Canada.
