An employee of Southern Nevada Paving Inc. died from injuries suffered in an industrial accident at Sloan Quarry located about 10 miles south of Las Vegas on Friday.
About noon, authorities were alerted that a worker had died at the quarry located at 5300 Sloan Road just west of Interstate 15, said Clark County spokesman Dan Kulin. The Clark County Fire Department and Metro Police responded to the scene. A representative of Aggregate Industries, a construction-based materials company that owns Southern Nevada Paving, confirmed the man was an employee.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the incident, said Teri Williams, a public information officer for OSHA. She said state law prevents her from releasing any more information.
