Henri Bendel, a retailer of New York high fashion women’s accessories for 117 years, will mark the grand opening of its first Las Vegas store next week at Fashion Show mall. Festivities, including a champagne toast, take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Bendel sells fine handbags, fragrances, accessories and even some fancy, comfortable shoes for walking the Strip.
Through Sept. 2, customers will receive a free Bendel iPhone cover with any purchase and a limited edition tote if they spend $150 or more. They can also enter a drawing to win a New York shopping spree.
Henri Bendel opened a New York shop in 1895, the first retailer on upper Fifth Avenue. In 1913, he became the first retailer to stage a fashion show and is credited with bringing Coco Chanel to the U.S. from Paris.
Since 1985, the stores have been operated by Limited Brands, owner of Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works.
