Firefighters extinguish townhouse fire

Townhouse fire

A townhouse fire this morning in the western valley appeared to have started outside before making its way to a first floor wall, according to officials.

Clark County Fire Department units responded about 11:09 a.m. to 9255 Apache Springs Drive, near West Spring Mountain and South Fort Apache roads, said Clark County spokesman Dan Kulin. The fire was under control by 11:15 a.m., he added.

Damages were contained to the first floor and the house is still habitable, Kulin said.

One person was at home at the time of the fire but managed to evacuate.

Kulin said he did not have a damage estimate or cause of the fire.
