Metro Police SWAT officers arrested a man in possession of 53 marijuana plants and 284 grams of harvested marijuana during a grow house raid near Rainbow Boulevard and Wigwam Avenue on Monday, an arrest report said.

Michael Herda owns the southwest valley home at 8385 Fox Brook Street and had turned the residence into a marijuana grow operation, the arrest report said. Narcotics detectives found that the bedrooms contained more than 50 4- to 6-foot-tall marijuana plants that were concealed by a false door, the arrest report said.

Detectives also found notes for growing marijuana, packaging material and a scale with green leafy residue, the report said.

According to the arrest report, Herda admitted to police officers that he was growing marijuana in his residence. He told police that he smoked more than a quarter ounce of marijuana per day, and denied any intent to sell the marijuana being grown in his home.

Herda was booked at the Clark County Detention Center and faces one charge of possession of marijuana with an intent to sell as well as possession of marijuana, the report said.
