Car hits building
Tuesday became anything but just another day at the office after a car drove into a building this morning in the southwest valley.
Emergency dispatchers received a report at 10:28 a.m. of a vehicle ramming the Barrett & Co. Inc. Realtor’s office at 2885 S. Jones Blvd.
Six people were injured and five, including the driver, were transported to area hospitals with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening, said Dan Kulin, Clark County Fire Department spokesman.
The driver had to be extracted by firefighters, said Metro Police spokeswoman Laura Meltzer.
The employees were in a sales meeting and not aware of what was happening outside when the incident occurred, said Dairene Merida, a broker’s assistant at the office. She said one employee who was across the room from the impact was knocked unconscious.
“We’re staying hopeful and trying to get through this as a company,” Merida said.
