Car hits man in yard
A 17-year-old without a driver’s license lost control of a vehicle and struck a man working in his yard, North Las Vegas Police said.
Sgt. Tim Bedwell said the incident happened about 9:45 a.m. today at 6125 Leaning Rock Court, near Tropical Parkway and Camino Eldorado.
When the boy lost control of the vehicle, he drove onto a front yard, where the vehicle hit the man, Bedwell said. The man was taken to University Medical Center with serious injuries.
Bedwell said the teen likely will be charged with losing control of a vehicle and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

17 years old and can't keep his vehicle on the road? He must have been texting. No license and no insurance. Who did the car belong to?
Obviously whoever owns the car allowed the kid to drive it. That owner should be liable as well.

Learning tool? For some reason, I doubt it.
Unlicensed driver, huh? I'll bet his mother is screaming to anyone who will listen about how it is the fault of the innocent man working in his yard. However, we need not worry because we'll get to see it on the evening news.
With people like this, it's always the fault of someone else.
John, if you're gonna talk about a 'screaming' mother be sure to include a 'screaming father' (or perhaps there's no dad in the picture?) Why is it always the MOTHERS who get the bad rap - raising a kid is the responsibility of 2 parents - a mother and a father - so stop always hanging the mother out to dry.
Sadly his punishment won't nearly equal the loss suffered by the man he hit.

The problem with 17 year olds....and many adults for that matter.....is that they never think about the consequences of their actions.
